This is not a vacation. This is an outdoor spring training experience thus players will engage in outdoor baseball training via two-a-day practices- (morning and afternoon). Players will engage in batting practice, infield work, outfield work, baserunning, detailed bullpens and catching clinics. While players will have some down time in the afternoon they should expect to spend the bulk of their time on a baseball field training and preparing for the start of the spring season.
The players and coaches will stay at the Comfort Suites in Fort Pierce. There will be 4 players per hotel room. This creates an experience that aligns with the college athlete dorm or away game experience. The rooms are spacious and include two beds and a pullout couch. During the experience the group will have access to chartered buses that will take players from the hotel to the field and anywhere else that the larger group is traveling.
While families are welcome to accompany their child on the trip and make their own reservation at the hotel or elsewhere, it is important to note that the price for the experience only covers your player's experience.
Players should pack athletic wear- inclusive of baseball pants- for daily training in addition to leisure wear for the evening for activities such as dinner. In addition, please treat this travel experience as you would a tournament; players will be required to travel with their bat/s, fielding gloves, batting gloves, batting helmet, and catcher's equipment (if applicable). Please keep in mind that baseball bats must be placed inside of your checked luggage as they are not permitted as carry-ons.
Families should be purchasing airfare to West Palm Beach (PBI-Palm Beach Intl.) with an arrival date of February 14th and a return date of February 20th. The team at IQ Beisbol will share an itinerary in early January with families who register so that they are aware of what times they should schedule their arrival and departure for. Players who travel outside of the recommended times will have to make separate car service arrangements from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. Players who fly within the recommended times will travel via the chartered buses.
The cost per player is $1300 for the week and includes the following: 3 meals a day, lodging, chartered bus transportation while in Florida, access to any extracurricular experience that the larger group will participate in. For example, in the past the group has visited the Mets spring training facility and on occasion they have been able to interact with players who are working out at the facility.
*** If you as a parent would like to accompany your player, and have them sleep with you, the rate for the week is $900.
Please note that airfare is not included in the price. Each family is responsible for purchasing their own airfare. In addition, the price reflects only the player's experience. Any additional family member that plans to travel with their player will have to develop their own travel, lodging and meal plan.
Please note that if your player is not staying the entire time, the cost is still the same.
At IQ Beisbol, we believe that baseball is more than just a game. It's a way of life. That's why we're committed to providing not only the best gear, but also the best resources and information to help players of all levels improve their skills and achieve their goals.
